Jane studied at Gray’s School of Art, Aberdeen 1975-76 and Harrow college of art, London from 1982-85, graduating with an HND in Art and design/Illustration.Jane opened her own gallery, Shorelines gallery in Kirkwall,Orkney in 1987. In 2005 she moved to her studio/gallery-shop in the village of Finstown. She has sold prints and cards to many outlets throughout the UK and original work worldwide. Jane sold her gallery in 2016 and moved to her new studio in Kirkwall at The Creative Hub in Hatston. In 2020 she launched her new website celebrating over 35yrs of artwork.
My work is defined by the nature, colour, landscape and light of my surroundings in Orkney, which I love.
Illustration work: 1985-Twelve full colour Illustrations and several black and white drawings for the children’s book ‘Sheldra’ by Theresa Hedges, the book is based around the story of a girl called 'Sheldra' who lived near the Neolithic Tomb of the eagles in South Ronaldsay, Orkney.
1985 Two book cover Illustrations for the poet George Mackay Browns novels and one book cover for a Naomi Mitchison novel commissioned by Richard Drew publishers, Edinburgh.
1986 A set of black and white drawings for Catherine Brown’s Scottish cookery published by Richard Drew publishers, Edinburgh.
1986 A set of four large composite paintings commissioned by the Highland Park Distillery for their new visitor centre in Orkney.
1990 Two large composite paintings commissioned by The Orcadian Publisher for their new factory in Kirkwall.
1987- 2015 Many private commissions worldwide.
AOI Gallery, London- 1984, Young Illustrators exhibition. A set of illustrations for 'The Old Man and the sea' by Ernest Hemingway.
Tankerness House Museum, Kirkwall- 1986 The craftsman at work. An exibition of over thirty paintings and drawings of crafts people at work from Somerset to Orkney. This included a fiddle maker, cider maker, Orkney chair maker, a blacksmith, a weaver and a miller.
Glad stones Land, Edinburgh- 1992 - joint exhibition.
The McEwan gallery, Aberdeenshire - mixed exhibition in 1992.
The Pier Arts Centre, Stromness - Jane regularly exhibits here in the annual xmas mixed exhibitions.

Breathless Breastless Project July 2014, Seventeen, Aberdeen. A travelling exhibition consisting of twelve artists who have experienced breast cancer.
Jane Glue Gallery, Finstown,Orkney- Jane has exhibited and sold work mainly through her own gallery from 1987-2016.
