A print of a waterclour painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue
printed on C-Type Matt
This is a watercolour of the view of Kirkwall with St Magnus cathedral and the Kirkwall hotel taken from Kirkwall marina on an icy cold winters day. You often get pastel colours and reflections like this during the winter time in Orkney. In this painting I have used the 'wet on wet' watercolour technique of dropping watery paint on to the wet blank paper, I also painted the sky and the water in the foreground at the same time, later adding in the buildings.
