Original mixed media painting/Stromness pier memories

An original mixed media painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue.

This painting is of looking through the shapes of the metal structure and pillars which hold up the older part of Stromness pier. I was really interested in all the patterns that the water reflections made against the structure on this lovely sunny day. I started to think about the old men who used to work around the pier so I have added two old friends into the green water below along with thier skiff or small fishing boat. This mixed media image is full of texture with added gesso, vintage photographs, silver leaf and acrylic paint.

This original framed and glazed painting is an overall size of 495X405mm. The image is on heavy deckled edge watercolour paper and is size 380X285mm. It has a white wood box moulding, 30X30mm.
