An original acrylic painting on canvas board by Orkney artist Jane Glue

One of my favourite places in Orkney is The Brough of Birsay. There is a pathway which you can cross at low tide to reach the brough and either side of the pathway are the most beautiful rockpools. On this particular day the bright sunlight turned the rockpools into this wonderful golden yellow colour, so I felt inspired to paint them!

This painting is glazed and framed with a 30mm deep light wood moulding and light cream mount. The overall size is 460X375mm.
