Original painting unframed/The blacksmiths

An original watercolour painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue

This painting was originally a design for a poster while at art college in London. These images of a blacksmith at work were actually painted in the Cotswolds and show the blacksmith working at his anvil, the old forge with blacksmith tools and the outside of his workshop. I have used black ink and watercolours for the paintings which were done on watercolour paper which was then heat pressed on to mountboard. You can see that there is text added over the image which was printed on to acetate, this can be removed but I quite like the idea of adding in the story behind the painting so I have left it on.

The painting itself is in perfect condition but the surrounding mount is a bit marked. You will notice there is a black line painted around the picture which I had added by hand. I would recommend re mounting this painting but leaving the black line before framing.
