NEW! Original watercolour painting/Sketching Puffins

An original watercolour painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue.

This vertical painting of puffins was painted with watercolour pencils and paint on location at Burrian castle in Westray. It is rather tricky to paint moving birds! but the best option is to work on all the birds at the same time by continually moving from one bird to the next and trying to capture the same pose. Luckily for me most of the birds were sitting and you can just see one puffin sitting in its burrow with his head sticking out! But I do have to say that it it was a very special experience to spend time painting these very cute birds on a gorgeous sunny day with 'no wind' and hardly any other people!

The overall framed and glazed size of this painting is 543X317mm. The image is size 370X153mm with a surrounding ivory mount of 55mm in width. The light grey wood moulding is 25mm deep and 28mm wide.
