A hand finished and embellished print by Orkney artist Jane Glue.
The title of this image came from a poem by Orkney poet Robert Rendall. Many of Roberts poems were written at Birsay where he had a small green hut called 'Zanzibar' which still stands beside the road to the Brough of Birsay. These huge waves were just off the coast of the brough on a beautiful bright winters day.
This A3+ hand embellished and finished print is an overall size of 480X330mm. This image is printed on epsom archival paper. This image of birds flying along the top of a huge wave at The Brough of Birsay was created originally with heavy acrylics and my own collage including a line of poetry by the Orkney poet Robert Rendall. I have hand painted the print with gesso and added in silver leaf to enhance the already lovely textures of the image.
