Large ceramic tile/The explorer Dr John Rae's home

A ceramic tile printed from a watercolour painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue.

This beautiful glossy ceramic tile is printed with a watercolour image of the historical home, Clestrain which was the arctic explorer Dr John Rae's birthplace. Hidden in the foreground grass are John Rae's snow sledge and fiddle and a Canadian striped towel and fur coat hang on the washing line. A flock of geese fly past the scene.
