Original painting/Beneath the waves

An original mixed media painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue.

Overall size framed 600X475mm, framed in a 30X30mm white wood box moulding. This beautifully textured abstract painting was inspired by a visit to Rackwick bay on the island of Hoy. The image is of the colours and textures of seaweed interwoven with limpet shells and has been created by using a mixture of gesso, acrylic paint, limpet shells and gold leaf on to a heavy white board panel which has been mounted on to an ivory mount board.  I have left this painting unglazed but fully varnished so that the textures can be fully apreciated.
