Tammie norries (Puffins)

A limited edition print from an original watercolour painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue in two editions of 100 prints.

This watercolour print of these very cute birds sitting amongst the seapinks was painted at Burrian castle on the island of Westray. 'Tammie norrie' is the Orcadian word for puffins which are only 28cm in height. Puffins mate for life and only have one 'puffling' or chick yearly. They arrive in Orkney at the beginning of April and leave to live out at sea in mid August.
