Limited edition print/The Westray wife

A limited edition print from an original watercolour painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue in an edition of 100 prints.

The Westray wife or Orkney Venus as it is also known is a tiny Neolithic 5000yr old sand stone figurine which was found at an archaeological site at the links of notland in Westray in 2009. It is 4cm tall and can be seen at the local museum in Pierowall village, Westray. You can just see where l have painted her markings on her body which represent her breasts and facial features. I love it!
