Limited edition print/Wild daisies by the shoreline

Ox-eye daisies grow all over Orkney in the summertime. These were growing down on the shoreline at Waulkmill bay. I have used a medium called ‘gesso' to paint the white daisy petals before I start to add any colour. The gesso resists any water based paint so I can deal with the flowers easily without trying to paint around each of the petal shapes, keeping the background quite loose allowing the blue colours of the sea to merge with green in the landscape behind.
