Limited edition print/Birsay vibes

A limited edition print from a mixed media painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue in two editions of 100 prints.

This image of Marwick head from Birsay shore was painted on a beautiful summers day. I have used a mixture of my own photographic collage, inks, gesso and acrylic paint to create this image. The acrylic paint has been used thinly by adding lots of water and allowing the colours to run and mix together by holding my painting board vertically much the same way as I might use watercolour paint. This technique also leaves the texture of the white gesso exposed below the cliffs and in the sea area.
