Blue day at Marwick Head

An abstract painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue
printed on C-Type Matt
This picture shows the cliffs at Marwick head from Skaill beach on a rough day. The famous neolithic village of Skara Brae sits along the edge of this shoreline. I can't imagine what life would have been like living there in an Orkney winter! I often find the winter in Orkney better for inspiration than the summer, I think it is the wildness of it. This is quite a textured picture with added papers and acrylics.
