Waulkmill bay in Orphir is one of Orkney's best kept secrets. The bay is situated back from the main Orphir road and when the tide is out these beautiful shapes and patterns are created in the sand. This detailed watercolour image was painted in the late afternoon of a bright cold winters day in January.
