Gan fir Spoots in Birsay, Orkney

 Razorclams are what Orcadians call spoots. The outer shell is quite long and protects the white body inside. They live just below the sand. I used to go out with my dad to collect spoots using a long knife which you poked into the sand while walking backwards. It is quite a skill!
