An original mixed media painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue.
This original image is painted on a heavy deckled edge 300LB weight handmade watercolour paper. I have left the deckled edge exposed around the picture when framing as I think it adds to the finished piece. Rackwick bay on the island of Hoy is one of my favourite places in Orkney. The high cliffs are full of the colours of pink sandstone combined with grass and dominate the horizon. Shades of turquiose blue fill the bay and the uncultivated valley of wild fauna is a haven for all kinds of wildlife. I have used watercolours to initially paint this image on location. The painting was then finished with added collage and brown ink here at my studio in Kirkwall.
Professionally framed and glazed at my local framing shop with a 30X30mm pine wood box moulding, the overall size is 560X570mm. The image is size 420X410mm and has a cream mountboard backing and is mounted with a 33mm width mount. Ready to be hung on your wall, it is signed and titled over the painting at the bottom edge of the image.
