A limited edition print frpm an original mixed media painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue.

I have been a fan of the famous Mexican artist Frida Kahlo's paintings for many years so it was fantastic to visit her family home 'The Blue house' in Mexico city earlier in 2026 as part of a month long trip throughout Mexico. I kept a sketchbook during my holiday which once I returned back to Orkney inspired me to paint this large mixed media image of Frida along with a few of her prized possessions and other memories from my trip. At the bottom right of the picture is Frida herself with her well known facial features such as her mono brow and two of her pet parrots at either side of her costume. At the top left you can see Frida again but this time lying in her bed painting her corset that she had to wear after a severe road accident involving a tram in Mexico city. Other parts of the image contain Frida's favourite jewellery, a rather grotesque monkey and skeleton form which hung above her bed and some very colourful Mexican tiles. I have also added in a Mexican building and cacti into the background.

All prints are presented on Fuji Matt C-type paper.
