NEW! Original watercolour painting/Cottage and purple thistles, Westray

An original watercolour painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue.

This cottage surrounded by wildflowers is on the Island of Westray in Orkney. We have had what you would call 'good growing weather' this summer, basically a lot of rain but warm too! Wildflowers were everywhere all around the island including these wonderful purple thistles. I especially like the old stone tiles on the roof of this house, something that can be seen less and less especially on the Orkney mainland.

The overall size of this framed and glazed painting is 560X443mm which includes a 55mm wide ivory coloured mount and light grey wood frame 25mm deep and 28mm wide. The actual painting size is 392X272mm.
