Original mixed media painting/Rackwick valley

An original mixed media painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue.

I love the contours,lines and shapes that you see in the peat hills of Rackwick valley. This abstract mixed media painting of the peat hills in Rackwick on the island of Hoy was painted on to a heavy white board using a mixture of black indian ink, acrylic paint and oil pastels. The shades of yellow, pink and orange represent the textures of the heather and peat and you can see Ward hill and the surrounding hillscape stretching out under the rain clouds into the distance beyond.

I have included the photograph I took in amongst the images to give you an idea of where my inspiration for the colours and shapes for this painting came from. 

The overall size of this framed and glazed painting is 670X538mm. This includes a 55mm wide ivory mount with the actual image being 500X370mm. The grey wood moulding is 30mm wide and 25mm deep. The painting is strung on the back and ready to hang on your wall.
