Original mixed media painting/Abstract Shoreline

An original mixed media painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue.

This beautifully textured painting was inspired by a visit to Rackwick bay on the island of  Hoy in Orkney. This beautifull textured abstract image is painted on to a heavy white board  and has been mounted on to ivory coloured board. I have used gesso to create all the heavy textured marks and placed limpet shells from the shoreline into the gesso centre to create a 'nest' of shells. Acrylics have been used to paint the image gradually building up from lemon yellow to lime green, sienna and cerulean blue. Lastly I have added Gold leaf over some of the texture throughout the painting.

The overall size of this framed and glazed painting is 600X475mm including the 30X30mm white wood box moulding.
