Small ceramic tile/Christmas Ba 2025

A glossy ceramic tile printed with an image by Orkney artist Jane Glue.

Each Christmas day and New Years day a wild game of mens rugby called 'The Ba game' is played along the streets of Kirkwall. The game consists of two sides, The Uppies and The Doonies who form a 'pack' with the aim of securing the leather ball or Ba to each teams winning point at either end of the Kirkwall main streets. This mixed media image was created with a mixture of newspaper collage and watercolours.

This tile is 105X105mm square and 6mm deep with a glossy waterproof surface. It is printed with an image by using a heat press and sublimation process here at my studio. The tile is gift boxed in a white eco friendly box with sliding lid size 135X135mm square and 15mm deep.
