Limited edition print/The angels share

A limited edition print from an original mixed media painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue in an edition of 100 prints

The angels share is a romantic term for the whisky lost during the cask maturation due to evaporation. As the liquid would evaporate into the heavens, it was dubbed the Angels' share. I heard this term used when making a visit to the world famous Highland Park distillery here in Kirkwall. I have used a mixture of the colours of whisky along with the blue's for the heavenly sky above and a few touches of gold leaf to create this small painting.
