A limited edition print from an original watercolour painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue
printed on C-Type Matt paper in four editions of 100 prints.
A few years ago I had the rare chance to visit the abandoned island of Swona. The last people to live there left in the mid 1970's and these days the island is home to a herd of feral cattle. This picture is of a few of the abandoned cottages on the island. In the foreground is an old stone sea dyke with a rusty metal buoy balanced on top and wildflowers called 'Ragged Robin' hug the bottom of the dyke. If you travel to Orkney with 'Pentland Ferries' to St Margarets Hope, you can see the island of Swona from the ferry.
