Limited print/The Westray wife on the shore

A limited edition print from an original mixed media painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue in three editions of 100 print runs.

I have placed a small mock 'Orkney venus' or 'The Westray wife' as we call it here in Orkney  into the bottom right corner of this mixed media image. The original stone venus was found at the 2009 archaelogical dig at the Links of Noltland on the island of Westray and you can see the real item at Pierowall Museum. This image was painted on to a canvas and has added beach sand, gravel and seaweed mixed with the acrylic paint colours.
