A limited edition print from an original mixed acrylic painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue
printed on C-Type Matt paper in print run's of 100 of each size.
'Silver darlings' is the Scottish name for herring fish. They have been given this name because they shine with a silver sheen in the water and sunlight. The original of this painting was commissioned for my sister, Judith Glue for the room in her hotel of the same name at The Storehouse in Kirkwall where it now hangs. I liked the idea of painting fish under the sea with the different colours of fishing net against the silver herrings and deep blue sea.
I am donating 10% from the sales of this print to the charity organisation 'Sea Shepherd'
I feel this is a very worthwhile cause and marries my passion for painting nature with the conservation of our seas.
