Limited edition print/Bluebells at Happy Valley, Stenness, Orkney

A limited edition print from a mixed media painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue
printed on C-Type Matt paper in four editions of 100 prints.

This image began by gluing handmade collage papers to form the tree shapes on to a large sheet of heavy watercolour paper. Once dry I then painted in the bluebells and the spring green foliage of the trees with acrylics. Happy valley is in Stenness and was the life’s work of a lovely man called Edwin Harrold. Edwin welcomed visitors from all over the world and many of them gave him seedlings to plant in his garden. Edwin passed away a good few years ago but Happy valley has now been restored and is looked after by a special trust.
