A limited edition print from a watercolour painting by Orkney artist Jane Glue
printed on C-Type Matt
This picture features the house of Clestrain which was Dr John Rae the arctic explorers birthplace. Dr John Rae also discovered the fate of Sir John Franklins voyage to discover the Northwest passage in Canada. There are plans in the future to make the house into a museum about Dr John Rae and his achievements. In the background there are The Hoy Hills covered in snow. I dropped salt into the wet paint of the sky to give a 'snowy' affect!
